Your choices
Optional analytics stay off until you accept them. Choose Reject optional to continue without them. You can reopen privacy settings at any time, change your choice, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing analytics consent reloads the page to stop scripts that were already running.
Information used to deliver the site
Hosting and security providers receive ordinary connection information, such as an IP address, requested page, browser information and request time, to deliver pages and protect the service. A privacy choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Clearing browser storage or using another browser may make the choice appear again. A separate timestamp limits how often the corporate sponsor popup appears; it does not identify a visitor or provide audience reporting.
Typography is delivered from the website’s font providers, including Google Fonts and the Data Disciples website font CDN. Those connections deliver fonts for display and receive ordinary connection information; they are separate from optional Google Analytics tracking.
Optional analytics
If you accept, Google Analytics can measure page visits, interactions with our site and labeled sponsor placements. Analytics may use cookies to recognize a browser. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization remain denied. We do not send names, email addresses, message text or chart-sharing comments as analytics event fields.
Google tags are blocked before consent and after a saved rejection. Rejecting analytics does not prevent ordinary hosting and security logs. Learn more in Google’s privacy policy.
Sponsors and external links
Data Disciples is a corporate sponsor of ProPaducah. Sponsorship placement does not establish an ownership relationship or disclose a payment amount. Labeled sponsor links include campaign and placement parameters (UTMs) so the advertiser can identify the source of a visit. These links do not include a visitor identifier or your map selections. Clicking a sponsor link opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
With optional analytics enabled, sponsor impressions are measured only after at least half the placement is visible for one second while the page is active. Sponsor clicks and popup dismissals may also be measured. Campaign, creative and placement identifiers describe the advertisement, not a person. This measurement does not infer an individual’s political interests or beliefs.
Newsletter and contact information
When you choose to send us a message or subscribe, we use the information you provide to respond or provide the service you requested. Newsletter permission is separate from analytics permission. Sending an inquiry does not by itself subscribe you to marketing email.
Forms connected to HubSpot send the submitted information to that service. Opening a hosted form connects your browser to the form provider; a form should identify required fields and any separate subscription choice before you submit. Read HubSpot’s privacy policy. Do not submit passwords, payment information, identification documents or other sensitive records through a general contact form.
Sharing and external links
Chart-sharing comments stay in the browser tab. ProPaducah does not receive that text through the sharing window. Choosing Facebook sharing passes a chart or page link to Facebook; you decide whether to add text and publish there. Facebook and linked websites use their own privacy policies. Following a source link does not share your newsletter preferences with that source.
Retention and requests
We keep reader communications for the purpose for which they were supplied, including responding to an inquiry and maintaining requested subscriptions. Subscription services may retain a limited suppression record after an unsubscribe so the address is not added back inadvertently. To ask about information you supplied, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy question, contact ProPaducah through its Facebook Page. Please describe the request first; do not send sensitive documents through a public comment.
Changes to this page
We update the date above when this policy changes. A material change to optional tracking requires an updated consent choice before that tracking starts.
